« Access to timely and accurate knowledge and information is emerging as the primary renewable resource for the horse industry. It is the industry’s willingness to develop a strategic learning capability that will enable it to become and remain internationally competitive. In reviewing the major strategies for R & D, it was believed that it was important to consolidate the information available nationally on education and training resources. A report was produced on all formal equine education programs in Australia. However, it was realised that the formal training programs were only one part of the learning tools that were available. This lead to the decision to convene a workshop to assemble some of the key people responsible for learning and training in the horse industry. This publication summarises the process and outcomes of the workshop and will help to develop effective strategies to enhance learning possibilities for people in the horse industry. » Présentation de l’éditeur (2000)
