Mago de Carthage (-0250? – -0150?)

« A Treatise on Agriculture and the Veterinary Art By Mago Carthaginiensis. His work was in XXVIII books, translated into Latin by Dionysius Silanus; and into Greek with omissions and additions by Cassius Dionysius, of which an epitome was made by Diophanes of Bithynia.

« Érudit, agronome carthaginois du III e ou II e siècle av. J.-C., auteur d’un important traité d’agronomie en langue punique. Dix fragments concerneraient l’élevage du bétail et des chevaux. Moulé précise que Le Traité de Magon renfermait sans doute plusieurs chapitres consacrés à l’art vétérinaire : « Dans l’ Hippiatrique (2) (liv. I, ch. XXVI, p. 95), il y a un article de Magon sur la difficulté de respirer. Dans ce même travail il est cité par Apsyrte (2) (liv. I, ch.
