Available Royal Dublin Horse Show archives
The archives of the Dublin Horse Show which dates back to 1864 and is considered the most Ancient of the world in its style, they are already digitized and available at the link: http://digitalarchive.rds.ie .
They are part of the RDS library collection and will be of interest to both the researcher that works on the evolution of equestrian sport and in particular jumping, as for the rider occasional.
The files, in addition to the programs (the first dates back to 1869), the results and many documents showing the history of a classic event of more than one hundred and fifty years, include the Maymes Ansell Photo Library, a collection that the photographer donated in 2007 and is about approximately 20,000 images taken at the Dublin Horse Show over forty years (from 1967 to 2006). The archives of photographer Tony Parkes complement this collection for years 2005-2012.
Among other collaborators, and who also enriched the collection by donating their photographs, newspaper clippings and correspondence, is the famous horsewoman and coach Iris Kellett (1926-2011) who formed dozens of champions in the 1960s / 1970s such as Eddie Macken.
