The longest valance displayed, which has been recognized so far in the Library of the horse measures 6.75 meters. It represents the historical cavalcade of the city of Caen that took place in 1883. This binding technique is very practical to represent, on a page of a single piece, the long cortege of a cavalcade with all the carriages and corresponding riders.
