Theses and dissertations online

Mennessier de La Lance himself listed nearly a hundred theses in fields as diverse as history, animal husbandry, veterinary care, and law. Similarly, our inventory also focuses on academic work. Currently, while the vast majority of theses and dissertations come from the four national veterinary schools or agricultural engineering programs, they do not simply explore issues related to horse health. The topics are equally varied and spread across all categories of the library's classification. Like a Prévert-style inventory, you'll find Séverine de Beco's work on The Parietal Art of the Chauvet Cave, presented at the Nantes Veterinary School in 2005; Henry Chateau's A Kinematic Study of the Digital Articulations of the Horse (Alfort, 2001); Stéphanie Bourlier's French-German Lexicon of Equine Veterinary Medicine (Lyon National Veterinary School, 2011); Paul Buffard's A Legal Study on Horse Breeding and Racing in France and Abroad (Paris Law School, 1900); and Christiane Baars's The Effect of Disabled Children and Adults on Horse's Heart Rate Variability During Therapeutic Horseback Riding (Wageningen University, 2011).
More than 1,800 works are now online, including nearly 500 that are digitized and freely accessible.
