Oliveira Conference, the presentations

The World Horse Library has just commemorated the anniversary of the birth of the Portuguese horseman Nuno Oliveira (1825-1989). A "powerful" personality, nurtured from his youth with the principles of classical horsemanship drawn from the library of Manuel de Barros, a wealthy owner of Portuguese horses, and endowed with a talent and equestrian tact globally recognized, he spent his life passing on his knowledge and "philosophy."

The vivid recollections from witnesses, including his daughter, truly made this session colorful and emotional.

The recording of the conference is available on several platforms:

With presentations by Ingmar De Voos, President of the FEI, Laurent Desprez, filmmaker of a documentary on the Portuguese horseman, Patrice Franchet d’Espèrey, former rider of the Cadre noir, Christian Carde, former Chief Rider of the Cadrenoir, Guillaume Henry, historian and publisher, João Pedro Rodriguez, Chief Rider of the Portuguese school of equestrian art, Pureza Oliveira, his daughter, his students, Dany Lahaie, Jean-Louis Sauvat, Catherine Henriquet, a tribute to Bettina Drumond, Olivier Puls, etc.
